Consultations on Wednesdays and an internist on call ( when needed)

A full otolaryngologist (ENT) consultation involves a detailed evaluation of your ears, nose, throat, and related structures, followed by targeted diagnostic tests based on your symptoms.

Initial Evaluation

  1. Patient Intake: You’ll complete paperwork covering your medical history, current symptoms, medications, allergies, and insurance details.
  2. Symptom Discussion: The ENT specialist will ask about issues like hearing loss, sinus congestion, sore throat, hoarseness, balance problems, or sleep disturbances.

Common Diagnostic Tests

  1. Depending on your symptoms, the ENT may recommend:
    1. Audiology Tests
    * Hearing Test (Audiogram): Measures hearing sensitivity across frequencies.
    * Tympanogram: Assesses eardrum mobility and middle ear pressure.
    2. Endoscopic Exams
    * Nasal Endoscopy: Uses a thin camera to view deep nasal passages and sinuses.
    * Laryngoscopy: Examines vocal cords and throat for hoarseness or swallowing issues.
    3. Allergy Testing
    * Identifies allergens causing nasal congestion, sneezing, or throat irritation.
    4. Throat Culture
    * Detects bacterial infections like strep throat.
